✅ Tone Profile

Warm • Rich • Balanced • Shimmering • Expressive

The solid cedar top brings warmth, responsiveness, and a pleasingly rounded character to the 552ce. It pairs beautifully with the solid mahogany back and sides, which contribute focused mids, clarity, and a balanced tonal foundation.

As a 12-string, the 552ce adds the distinctive shimmer, octave richness, and natural chorus-like effect that make doubled strings so captivating. The Grand Concert body keeps the sound articulate and controlled, making this guitar an appealing choice for fingerstyle arrangements, vocal accompaniment, layered recording tracks, and expressive rhythm playing.

The 12-fret design and shorter scale also contribute to the instrument’s relaxed feel and distinctive response.

✅ Next Generation Innovations

Taylor has rethought several key elements of its acoustic guitar design to improve tone, playability, and amplified performance.

✔️ Scalloped V-Class Bracing

An evolution of Taylor’s V-Class architecture, scalloped V-Class bracing is designed to increase warmth, responsiveness, sustain, and open-string richness while retaining the pitch accuracy associated with V-Class guitars.

✔️ Action Control Neck

Taylor’s innovative neck design combines a long-tenon neck joint with convenient action adjustment. Players and technicians can make precise string-height adjustments through the soundhole, helping maintain comfortable playability as conditions and playing preferences change.

✔️ Claria™ Acoustic Electronics

The Claria pickup system combines an under-saddle piezo pickup with a proprietary preamp for clear, natural amplified tone. Convenient soundhole-mounted Volume, Mid-Contour, and Tone controls let you shape your sound for different playing styles and performance environments.

Together, these innovations make the Next Generation 552ce a particularly appealing option for musicians seeking the distinctive voice of a 12-string in a comfortable, modern instrument.
