The 2014 Taylor 816e Grand Symphony represents an interesting chapter in Taylor guitar history. Built around Taylor’s now-discontinued Grand Symphony body shape, this premium 800 Series acoustic combines a solid Sitka spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides in a larger-bodied, non-cutaway design.

This particular 816e comes from our Tobias Music Consignment Selection and has been beautifully maintained. For a guitar built in 2014, it shows remarkably little play wear, with only very light signs of use and a few minor finish nicks.

This is a very nice example of an older Taylor 800 Series guitar.

The Grand Symphony body has enough additional air volume to give the guitar a bigger acoustic presence than the Grand Auditorium. Strummers and flatpickers should particularly appreciate the additional headroom and projection, but there is still plenty of Taylor definition for more delicate playing.

Condition is another strong point. This guitar has clearly been well cared for during its life. There are a few minor nicks and very light signs of use, but overall play wear is minimal for its age.
