Designed exclusively by the Martin Custom Shop Expert team at Tobias Music, this one-of-a-kind Martin Custom Shop 000 14-Fret combines two of our favorite tonewoods into what we believe is one of the finest 000-sized guitars we’ve ever commissioned.

Inspired by the legendary Martin 000-28, this custom retains everything players love about Martin’s iconic auditorium design while elevating nearly every tonal and cosmetic detail through carefully selected premium materials.

The centerpiece is an extraordinary set of Premium Wild Grain Rosewood back and sides paired with a Certified European High Altitude Swiss Spruce top—two woods that have consistently produced some of the most responsive, balanced, and musical Martin Custom Shop guitars we’ve experienced.

As one of only a handful of Martin Custom Shop Expert Dealers, Tobias Music works directly with Martin’s Custom Shop to hand-select tonewoods and develop exclusive specifications that simply aren’t available on production models.

Growing at higher elevations with shorter growing seasons, the grain develops exceptionally tight growth rings along with beautiful feathering (medullary rays). Tonally, Swiss spruce delivers remarkable warmth and richness while maintaining outstanding clarity, projection, and dynamic headroom.

We’ve had the privilege of ordering countless Martin Custom Shop guitars through the years.

This one immediately stood out.

Visually, it’s elegant rather than flashy. We intentionally avoided excessive ornamentation and instead allowed the incredible tonewoods to become the focal point. The European Flamed Maple binding, Herringbone trim, Premium Rosewood headplate, and long-pattern Diamonds & Squares fingerboard inlays create a timeless, vintage-inspired aesthetic that feels unmistakably Martin.

But the real magic begins the moment you play it.

The Swiss spruce responds instantly to a light touch while still rewarding aggressive flatpicking with exceptional headroom. The Wild Grain Rosewood adds blooming overtones, remarkable sustain, and a piano-like richness that fills the room.
