Designed with a 12-fret neck configuration, this model offers a more compact and comfortable playing experience. The repositioning of the bridge further down the body—made possible by the 12-fret design—enhances the instrument’s ability to produce a deeper, warmer, and more harmonically complex sound. The result is a guitar that blends premium aesthetics with outstanding tonal depth and responsiveness.
The tone of an all-koa 12-fret guitar is a distinctive blend of warmth, clarity, and natural compression, with characteristics shaped by both the tonewood and the 12-fret design.
Hawaiian koa offers a strong, punchy midrange, with a sweet and articulate voice that can cut through a mix without being overpowering.
The tone has a natural warmth, especially as the wood opens up over time. Initially, koa can sound bright or tight, but with regular playing, it develops a rich, mellow character with more low-end bloom.
Koa’s treble response is clear but not overly bright—more glassy than sparkly—offering detail without harshness.
