Born from a separate branch of the Dreadnought family tree, slope-shouldered guitars evolved with their own distinct personality. Slightly wider, deeper, and rounder than their square-shouldered cousins, the Slope D’s defining feature is its short 25” scale length. Long admired by country players and other American roots musicians, it’s widely celebrated as an exceptional partner for singer-songwriters. While it holds its own as a flatpicking instrument, the slope-shoulder design is often considered the Dreadnought of choice for fingerstyle.
