Featuring a solid koa top and layered koa back and sides, this versatile Grand Auditorium produces a bright, focused sound that evolves over time into a warm, rich, and sweet character. Its slim, comfortable Taylor neck with a 1-7/8" nut width allows for effortless fretting, while the Venetian cutaway ensures easy access to higher frets. A full-body gloss finish and shaded edgeburst highlight koa’s natural beauty. Equipped with ES2 electronics, the 264ce-K DLX comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
As a tropical hardwood, a koa top initially produces a bright and focused tone, particularly when paired with koa back and sides. However, with continued play, it gradually matures into a warmer, richer, and sweeter sound, with a blossoming midrange full of lush overtones. A common misconception occurs when a player drawn to koa’s striking appearance chooses a koa-top guitar, finds it too bright at first, and doesn’t play it enough to allow the wood to develop its full, resonant character.
