Outside layer for the stunning looks, inside layer for beautiful tone. Also known as Goncalo Alves, Tigerwood gets its name from its distinctive striped appearance, which resembles a tiger’s pattern. It's an easier name to remember too. The wood’s color ranges from a darker, stripey look similar to koa to lighter tones resembling rosewood. In terms of weight and hardness, it’s denser and heavier than koa or mahogany—closer to East Indian rosewood, though with a unique grain pattern. Sonically, it leans toward the tonal characteristics of rosewood because of its density, but offers a more balanced midrange, like koa, thanks to its grain structure.
The 214ce offers exceptional versatility and comfort, making it an excellent choice for players of all styles who need a steel-string acoustic that can handle a wide range of musical situations. At its core is the Grand Auditorium body shape, known for its ergonomic contours that sit comfortably against the player while delivering a well-balanced tonal spectrum suited for various genres.
