Santa Cruz Guitar Company DPW Cocobolo dreadnought. Originally built for us and sold locally, this guitar is now back on the market as its original owner has moved to smaller-bodied instruments. It’s a truly exceptional piece — beautifully grained Cocobolo with touches of sapwood, paired with an Adirondack spruce top for a powerhouse sound. The tone is big and bold, with a bell-like low end and clear, strong trebles.
It has been carefully maintained, kept properly humidified, and is in excellent condition for 12 year old guitar. Only the lightest signs of playwear are present — no dings or scratches — with just minimal fret wear. The action is dialed in perfectly. This Pre-War dreadnought (DPW) is ready to deliver many more years of music and is looking for its next good home.

Crafted with Cocobolo back and sides paired with a Adirondack Spruce top, it features a clean solid square headstock and a comfortable round neck with volute. Beneath the surface, advanced X-bracing and scalloped top bracing pay homage to the legendary instruments of the pre-WWII era.
The D/PW offers commanding volume, rich overtones, and a presence that captivates — reminiscent of the surviving pre-war originals. This model is free from unnecessary ornamentation, relying solely on the finest materials brought to life by SCGC’s state-of-the-art lutherie.
