Demonstrating our dedication to crafting the most playable 12-string guitars, the 50th Anniversary 858e LTD blends a comfortable handfeel with a rich, powerful "wall-of-sound" tone. This limited-edition acoustic-electric features Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top, all in our large-bodied Grand Orchestra shape, reminiscent of the classic rosewood/spruce jumbo 12-strings from Taylor's early days. It also incorporates modern design elements such as our V-Class bracing, which enhances volume, sustain, pitch accuracy, and touch sensitivity. The double-mounted string anchoring system, with a shared anchor point for each string pair, ensures a consistent string break angle over the saddle, providing optimal tonal balance. Combined with the rosewood/spruce pairing, players will enjoy a deep, shimmering, high-fidelity 12-string sound.
The clean visual details include a three-ring green abalone rosette, mother-of-pearl Progressive Diamond fretboard inlays, white binding with black and white top purfling, a faux-tortoise pickguard, and Taylor Gold mini tuning machines. Special 50th anniversary features include gold acrylic dots in the ebony bridge pins and a commemorative guitar label. The guitar also comes with onboard ES2 electronics and is packaged in a beautiful deluxe Western Floral hardshell case.
