✅ Why You’ll Love This Guitar
The 114ce has long been one of Taylor’s most popular entry-level acoustic-electric guitars, and this Special Edition Dark Tobacco Shaded Edgeburst adds an especially attractive look to an already proven design. The solid torrefied spruce top delivers a mature, responsive tone, while the layered Sapele back and sides provide a balanced tonal foundation.
The Grand Auditorium body shape is exceptionally versatile, offering a comfortable playing experience with enough projection and low-end presence for strumming, while remaining articulate for fingerstyle playing. The comfortable 1-11/16” nut width makes the neck especially approachable for a wide range of players.
✅ Our Expert Opinion
We think this Special Edition 114ce is an excellent choice for the player who wants a genuine Taylor acoustic-electric with great tone, comfortable playability, and a distinctive appearance without moving into a higher price range.
The Dark Tobacco Shaded Edgeburst gives this 114ce a much more distinctive appearance than the standard finish, while the solid torrefied spruce top adds an impressive tonal character for a guitar in this price range. Add Taylor’s proven ES2 electronics, and you have a guitar equally at home practicing on the couch, performing on stage, or recording.
As with every guitar we sell, our Tobias Music team gives each instrument a professional inspection and setup before it leaves our shop.
