Charming little guitar. This 1968 model shows the expected signs of use for a 58-year-old instrument—various dings and scratches—but overall, it’s in solid shape for its age. The playability and action are comfortable and ready to go. There’s minor fret wear, though it still plays well. The back has a slight separation along the center seam, but thanks to Martin’s internal center brace strip, it remains structurally stable. A great vintage find. Overall - considered good to very good condition.
The 0‑16NY model was introduced by C.F. Martin in the early 1960s as a compact, 12‑fret parlor guitar with a nod to vintage 1920s Martin instruments—with a spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck, rosewood fingerboard/bridge, a slotted headstock, and side‑dot markers. It featured Martin’s X‑bracing and was spec’d to handle both nylon and light steel strings.
