This guitar is truly one of a kind. Crafted from exceptionally rare Pau Rosa for the back and sides, paired with a premium-grade, high-altitude Swiss spruce top, its tone is nothing short of extraordinary. Our 46-year collaboration with Martin Guitars has allowed us to design some of the most distinctive instruments produced by the Martin Custom Shop in Nazareth, PA.
For this masterpiece, the master luthiers at Martin delved deep into their exclusive wood reserves to uncover two rare, prized sets of Pau Rosa—a dense African hardwood that has been carefully preserved in Martin’s vault. (Dreadnought version coming soon.) Tonally, Pau Rosa offers a unique character, positioned between Rosewood and Ebony. It delivers a tight, punchy low end, rich low-midrange frequencies, and a bell-like sustain reminiscent of Brazilian Rosewood.
The top is made from certified Swiss spruce sourced from high altitudes, known for its exceptional tonal properties. This combination results in a warm, beautifully balanced sound that rings like a bell. The tone is rich and harmonious, making this one of the finest guitars we’ve ever had the pleasure to offer.
Our design team opted for a refined 41-style theme, featuring intricate Torch headplate inlay, select abalone top trim, and an Alternate Torch-style fretboard inlay. These details add a touch of elegance without being overly ornate, giving the guitar a sophisticated and timeless appearance.
