Pre-Owned Gibson B-25 Cherry Sunburst c.1965 w/ Molded Hardshell Case
This 1965 Gibson B-25 is a wonderful example of Gibson’s classic small-body acoustic design from the mid-1960s. Featuring a beautiful Cherry Sunburst finish, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, this B-25 has plenty of vintage Gibson character and tone.
Serial number 358627 places this guitar approximately in 1965, and the guitar appears to retain its original features and appointments. It is in very good overall condition for its age, with no cracks or major dents. There is some honest finish wear and scratching consistent with its nearly 60 years of use, but nothing that detracts from its overall appearance.
The guitar has a slim, comfortable neck and currently plays very well, with good action and plenty of life remaining in the frets. The adjustable bridge and original-style hardware are present.
Inside the guitar, two small strips of tape have been placed across the center-seam brace. This was done many years ago and appears to be an old repair/reinforcement rather than a current structural concern.
A nice hardshell case is included, although it is not the original Gibson case.
A very cool, clean-playing vintage Gibson B-25 with a beautiful Cherry Sunburst finish and loads of 1960s character.
Tobias Music Insight
The B-25 is one of those vintage Gibsons that has become increasingly appreciated for its compact size, comfortable feel, and wonderfully dry, woody vintage tone. This is an especially nice example for someone looking for an authentic 1960s Gibson without stepping into the considerably higher prices commanded by Gibson’s larger vintage models.
