The Martin D-28 is often hailed as the most legendary acoustic guitar in the world—trusted by generations of musicians and played by iconic artists across a wide range of genres. Its Dreadnought body shape and scalloped bracing create a powerful, resonant tone, marked by deep bass, clear highs, and lush overtones—qualities that have shaped the sound of acoustic music for nearly 100 years.
Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-28 delivers a full, balanced sound that suits virtually any playing style. Its satin-finished neck features a Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval profile, a high-performance taper, and a 25.4” scale length for smooth, comfortable playability.
Aesthetically, the D-28 combines classic elegance with thoughtful details—antique white binding, an ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, an ebony bridge with bone pins, and nickel open-gear tuners. It’s offered in both gloss and satin finishes to suit your style.
For 2025, Martin’s updated Standard Series introduces enhancements in tone, feel, and appearance. GE Sitka spruce top bracing, borrowed from the Modern Deluxe Series, provides vintage-inspired resonance and sustain. Refinements such as a redesigned neck profile, slimmer fingerboard, and updated bridge and heel improve both playability and visual appeal. Each D-28 comes with a premium hardshell case.
