Designed for an exceptional playing experience, the Builder's Edition 324ce blends Taylor’s renowned comfort and playability with the rich tonal qualities of responsibly sourced Shamel ash. Harvested from trees removed from urban areas, Shamel ash produces a warm, woody response similar to high-grade mahogany, emphasizing fundamental notes with minimal overtones. A solid mahogany top enhances tonal balance with a touch of natural compression for a smooth, even sound across all frequencies.
For added comfort, this Grand Auditorium model features a beveled armrest and cutaway, chamfered edges, and a Silent Satin finish that minimizes incidental noise. The guitar comes with a deluxe brown hardshell case for protection and storage.

Supplied by West Coast Arborists, Inc., this wood comes from trees removed due to age, safety concerns, or other factors, repurposing them to create greater value and support urban reforestation efforts.
Tonally, Shamel ash stands out as a promising high-grade guitar wood, delivering a clear, fundamental-focused sound with minimal overtones. This results in crisp, articulate notes that respond well to a player’s style. Compared to the “swamp” ash commonly used in electric guitars, Shamel ash is denser, more resonant, and moderately weighted—lighter than Northern ash (used in baseball bats) but heavier than its swamp ash counterpart.
