Taylor Guitars 657ce Bajo Quinto. Designed to capture the distinctive sound and essence of traditional Mexican music, the 657ce Bajo Quinto is a unique instrument that blends Taylor's modern innovations with a rich, authentic tone. This 10-string Bajo Quinto is tuned in fourths to A-D-G-C-F, featuring octave pairs for the A and D strings and unison pairs for the G, C, and F strings. Its body is crafted from solid Big Leaf maple for the back and sides, paired with a solid Sitka spruce top. Combined with Taylor’s Grand Pacific round-shoulder dreadnought body shape and advanced V-Class bracing, these materials produce a vibrant, clear, and resonant sound that stands out from anything else in Taylor's lineup.
The instrument boasts a newly designed offset bridge pin and string ramp layout, enabling each string pair to resonate fully with an optimal touch response, free from interference. The aesthetic details draw inspiration from classic Mexican instruments, including an elegant Florentine cutaway for easy access to higher frets, a striking white pearloid double pickguard with a matching truss rod cover, and mother-of-pearl Mission inlays accented by grained ivoroid. Additional decorative touches include ebony bridge pins adorned with green abalone dots and gold mini-tuners. The 657ce Bajo Quinto comes equipped with a Fishman Rare Earth soundhole pickup and is protected by a deluxe Western Floral hardshell case.
